Sustainability

In order to obtain a product that is as sustainable as possible, at Ous de Ponent we have been working to minimise the environmental impact of our activities for years.

We have a closed-loop production system at Ous de Ponent. The cereals are sown and the soil is enriched with our birds’ manure. The harvest is then collected and used to feed our hens, and they give us high-quality and 100% sustainable eggs.

Renewable Sources

Apart from this closed-loop production system, our facilities run on energy from renewable sources. We also produce our own energy thanks to our photovoltaic panels.

What We Produce

Eggs

The third stage of the production process takes place in the classification centre, where the eggs undergo different quality control checks so that they can be classified and packaged according to the characteristics and final destination of each egg.

Chickens

All our farms comply with 'Animal Welfare' regulations. This means that our hens are looked after and ready to start the laying stage as ‘happy’ as possible. The level of care given to hens makes them offer the best of themselves. In other words, exceptional-quality eggs.

Chicks

As egg producers, we know that in order to have the best laying hens we first have to select and raise our chicks in the best possible way. Once they are 17 weeks old, they are ready to begin their laying stage.

Types of Eggs

ORGANIC

For the most gourmet customers, we offer eggs from organic chickens. 100% certified. Ideal for supermarkets, gourmet channels or retail.

BARN-FARMED

Fresh shell eggs from our chicken coops. Maximum quality and processed directly for the end-consumer. Sale for supermarkets and distributors.

FREE RANGE

We also have free-range eggs for the most discerning customers. These products come from our cage-free hens. Recommended for supermarkets.

CAGE

Fresh eggs from our layer houses, which meet strict Animal Welfare requirements and the 2012 regulations for enriched cages. In this way, a code-three egg of the highest quality is obtained, mainly intended for supermarkets, distributors and export.
